Speaking of Fishes!

Quite a few weeks back, at one of my Girl's Night Out Workshop's, we made fish!

Here is one made by Marie [a very creative lady]!

She mixed up the colors so it wasn't monochromatic like my sample [not shown].

Last Weekend ...

... we went to the small seaside town of Cayucos, CA [sounds like cy-u-cus ... yippie cy, yi, u, cus]! The weather was beautiful!

... it is just north of Morro Bay, CA

This shot was taken from the pier ... where we were visited by a couple of pods of playful fish [dolphin] ...

I know they're pretty far away in this picture, but they were fun!

Another Getty beauty!

I truly couldn't figure out what this was until I read the caption for it! A lovely music stand!

I know this one's a little blurry, but the next one shows the entire stand.

Music is also one of my passion's ... and the woodworking/inlay [not the right word] of this piece was just gorgeous!

Last Saturday, Nov 7th ...

... We took Dad to the Getty Museum. If you haven't been there, it is a great way to spend an afternoon! To be amongst some of the most famous works of the world's most renowned artists is truly spellbinding.

This is a Carved Relief -- carved from a solid block of wood.

Although this happens to be a nude, it is more the capturing of the color, playfulness and embrace of the fantasy that drew me to this piece. It made me smile with the notion to think that you could run from love.

Although this picture is dark, but the beauty of the museum is evident at all times.

We've been busy ...

... with Dave's Dad in town! He drove from St. Louis, MO to CA in four days! We visited with him the last two weekends and enjoyed his company! As much as Dad tried not to like Frankie [Tobi's dog], he wasn't successful! They ended up getting along rather well!

Dad left this morning for his journey home! We'll miss him!

Wonderful Weekend with Whales!

We went whale watching on Saturday and Dave got some really great shots! It was a really awesome experience! The whales are so big and unpredictable!

Dave loved the dolphins! Such fun!

Just Us Girls and their Daddy

A couple of weeks ago, my sister Dia came in to town from Henderson, NV for lunch! On the way, she picked up my sister Carin ... Poppy met us at the Olive Garden at Ontario Mills ... We had a great time together reminiscing and Papa told us some stories of long ago ... This was one of those priceless times you're glad you didn't miss ...

I was in my Stamp/Craft room today ... moving things around ... trying to get ready to go back to work next week and I came across the gift Carol gave me for high sales/recruits for June ... very cool!! Look at all the cool stuff I got! Thank you Carol!

It's September!?!

Wow,

It's hard to believe it has been almost a month since I last posted ... sorry!

Since convention, I have had a couple of events in my home ... These are a couple of projects we've done ... A card with an envelope with a matching gift card holder ...

... and have gone to the bi-monthly meeting of Stampin' Sisters on August 26th ... where Carol allowed me to design one of the make-n'takes!

Dave and I then went to Laughlin for a much needed mini-vacation where we took out our water toys and played on the river. I believe we chose the hottest weekend of the year to be there [123 degrees in full sun] ...
